Finally! I've got my ticket and I'm going on Tuesday night! Can't wait! For those of you who've seen it, should I expect a good show?

I didn't like it much, but everyone else I went with loved it. So ignore my opinion! *g*

As long as you don't take it too seriously, you should enjoy it. Remember that it's a farce. It's not supposed to be some great epic.
Have fun! Let us know what you think.

Actually, I changed my mind. It's worth going to see for the Froonium - erm, I mean Firconium song and the Mexican maid. And actually, a couple of other songs too. But mostly the maid. *g*

I saw it a second time tonight.... The actors voices weren't as strong this performance as they were the first time - well more like it took Helen in particular a song or two to get into her strong voice. All of them were great. This lady next to me didn't realise the Carrolls were related *slaps forehead* Still yet again I decided not to wait around to get my programme signed This time was my personal choice though because I wanted to be home for BJD tonight <vbg>

I thought it was very fun! You're right - you can't expect it to be a masterpiece (the script is definately not a masterpiece) but it was lighthearted fun. The songs were very enjoyable, and the actors pulled them off wonderfully. I definately cringed quite a few times.... cmon - the whine/wine joke? Oh please! That was terrible! There were a few other jokes that I could have done without, however overall the comedy was quite good. Peter was amazing! For the first few moments I thought it was 2 actors playing the different roles (yes, I did know he was going to play both but I'd been at uni all day and had had practically no sleep - give a girl a break ). He was wonderful though - his acting was seamless and his voice was beautiful. I loved the bedroom scene. The Mexican maid was HILARIOUS! Did anyone else notice that Mitchell Butel has fantastic legs? Wow! hehe Very funny actor though. Tamsin was beautiful as always - though her voice was a bit too good for her character at times. Simon Gleeson was a great comic actor, though I feel that his performance was better at the start... maybe he was losing energy... Helen Dallimore was simply stunning - her acting was great, but her voice... wow! Just smooth and beautiful But yeah - I love the theatre, and it was a great night

What cracks me up is the role of Olivia was supposed to be for a Soprano <g> And when they were talking about it at the night with the actors Tamsin was like I'm not a Soprano which got a few laughs <g> My friend Leona saw the production on the same night I did the first time around and we both agreed Tamsin and Helen could have played either role - the only reason Tamsin played the daughter was we thought it would have been plain wrong to have father and daughter IRL to play husband and wife Though Helen manages to do that in two shows - play husband/wife in one and father/daughter in the other <g> For anyone wondering RoM closes tomorrow night, with Harbour closing Saturday night. Some of the actors already have their next role lined up for them (see MTC) though the Carrolls don't... then again maybe they can persuade Tamsin to do with the Dusty Springfield musical workshop that's on in Melbourne next week....

Did anyone else notice that Mitchell Butel has fantastic legs? Yes, yes I did ;-) I know what you mean there. Poverty was done in such a fantastic belt, and really, it was so good that you can forgive her for the fact that it doesn't quite match her accent the rest of the time. :-) And even though it would be another Tamsin-as-soprano role, I see no reason why she couldn't play Hope in Urinetown. It is a very similar role. And hey, why not through Peter in as Cladwell... ;-) Actually, another show I put them as possible cast in is Paris. Tamsin would do Cassandra well, I think, and I can just see Peter as Priam. I'll have to post my entire theoretical cast possibilities for that later. ~Julia

Yeah Mitchell has great legs - then again Mitchell is just great across the board I got my STC Feb issue today in the mail and it seems Genevieve Lemon and Peter have joined the cast of another STC production in "Victory" - so that's now 4 RoM/Harbour members who have their next job lined up already They still haven't announced the full casts of the other STC productions yet (except for Othello and the add-ons Snow Queen, Copenhagen). I've still got my fingers crossed Tamsin does either another workshop or another Production Company musical... though my big wish would be to see her do Sideshow Alley at the end of the year (though Nov is so far away). Btw, does anyone know if Helen Dallimore and Chloe Dallimore are related? (ie: sisters, etc) I've got a feeling they are since they both look alike and sound alike.

I have a fairly strong feeling they're sisters. I think I heard it somewhere, but I may just be jumping to conclusions.
