I've heard a couple of others, but I always feel strange sharing casting news if it's not "official". I'm the same so I only post the ones are know are correct. Some more casting news that has leaked out includes: Dylan Yeandle Jess Brownrigg Nathan Wheldon I believe all have lead roles ;-) Oh, and word is Nathan's band have been approached to play Was Dylan in LC's production of "Footlloose" a few years back? He was really good in that show if it is him. Buff

Liz Corrick is in the ensemble, as well.
And Dylan was in Music of the Night years ago, but I don't suppose anyone remembers that!

You picked it Buff. Dylan was the lead in Footloose. Also, at the time we were putting it on, he was on Ch7's popstars. Got into the Top 30 or something? Very talented young man.

Great cast - but when is the "official announcement" due? It's been ages since the auditions, so no wonder it's all leaking out bit by bit.
There are loads of Players people involved - do I sense a Players/LMS joint venture or alliance of sorts? Stranger things have happened...

And Dylan was in Music of the Night years ago, but I don't suppose anyone remembers that! I remember it being on but I didn't get to see it. It was a PTB show with Brett Budgeon, Josh Lowe, Brendon Markos, you and a few others performed at the Casino. No arguments there. Great cast - but when is the "official announcement" due? According to the Stage Manager, posting on Facebook, should be announced today. Another cast member is Jono Butler. A strong actor/singer who just finished at the Grammar School. Buff

Thanks for that, Di! A lot of names I recognise in there (and quite a few I don't) but looks like a pretty good line up. Buff

It is a fabulous cast with heaps of talent. Some new names in there for me too which is great to see. I am looking forward to working with them all on the show.

Dear Phil, Jeff & the entire Rent company,
With opening night upon you we wanted to take a few moments of your time to wish the cast, crew and production team of Rent every success for your season.
Along with you, we are lucky to share a city that enjoys an enduring passion for the theatre. Perhaps, as Arthur Miller put it, "The Theatre is so endlessly fascinating because it is so accidental. It's much like life."
And Rent, of course, is very much about life – the struggles, the joys, the despair and importantly, making the most of what you have today.
With your hard work and talent you are sowing seeds of creativity, inspiration and accomplishment. And we have no doubt that Launceston audiences will reap the benefits of your efforts this week.
On behalf of the entire team from Encore Theatre Company, we say ‘break a leg’ and we look forward to cheering you on from the other side of the footlights tonight.
Kind regards,
Jamie, BJ, Wendy, Matt, Nic, Di & Peter Encore Theatre Company Committee.

I thought it was a fantastic show, but I'm not sure I agree with the review. Tessa, Travis and Dylan were standouts for me. All the leads were strong but those three were as good as any professional cast I've seen.

I had not seen the show prior to Saturday night so can't compare to anything but Tessa, Dylan and Travis were great. Tessa's "performance" scene was pure brilliance. It's would be a strange scene to perform, but she made it work so well. The whole show I was thinking "Gee Travis is playing this very understated" but towards the end when he is told by Nathan's character (having a mental blank - very tired!) tells him he's always on the outside observing, never getting involved it really made sense. Mrs Buff said Dylan was here favourite role and that he was perfect. I found it hard to argue. My highlight? Being a musician, the singing of "Seasons of Love" at the start of the second act. The two soloist (Samantha Hammersley and Lyndell Geeves) blew me away, and I don't impress easily). I know both those two and heard them sing many times before, but they stepped up a notch or two. Really enjoyed the show. Buff
