Details of the Launceston Players' production of Assassins as of November 25: Director: Jeff Hockley Musical Director: Petrina Jahnz Exec Producer: Jack Morton John Wilkes Booth: Patrick O'Halloran Giuseppe Zangara: Richard Clarke Leon Czolgosz: Mick Jahnz John Hinckley: Danny Gibson Charles Guiteau: Mark Horner Sara Jane Moore: Carol Devereaux Lynette Fromme: Denise Sam Samuel Byck: Daniel Speed Lee Harvey Oswald: TBA Balladeer: Dean Cocker Proprietor: Cameron Skirving Emma Goldman: Kathy Dunning Ensemble: Marcus McKenzie, Matt Sheehan, Cameron Skirving, John Towers, Susie Daw, Kathy Dunning, Lyndell Geeves, Natasha McCulloch, Georgie Todman. Performance dates: 29 March to 8 April 2006 at the Earl Arts Centre. *~*~*~*~*~*~*
The floor is now open for discussion...
*~*~*~*~*~*~* * Already there are rumours of one cast member wanting to leave due to "other commitments". * Interesting that Oswald is still not yet cast. I suggested they take a leaf out of the 2004 Broadway production and use the Balladeer as Oswald. * The cast is full of failed relationships - should make for interesting dynamics...

That's a good line up. A lot of names there I recognise and have worked with in the past. Why would you audition, then leave when you've been cast? I know there are circumstances where things change at short notice, but most people would have a fair idea of things that are coming up. That's one of the reason's I didn't auditon in the first place. Buff

I haven't met Matt Sheehan yet, when we have the first rehearsal I'll be able to tell you.
The person in question has now said that they will be able to perform. I think there may have been external *coughpersonalissuescough* factors that contributed to their uncertainty, but it's all good now.
That Lyndell Geeves, she's a bit of trouble... ;D Can't wait to work with her and Susie again.

You must let me know If he is, he was Marius in my Les Mis. I knew he was going to Tasmania, but I didn't think he'd still be there.

one wonders if the cast member who was going to quit has a history of doing so in recent productions... there was a guy who pulled out of the LMS production of Hello Dolly due to clashing with another member of the company... wonder if it's the same person??
interesting line up of male cast.... lots of high heels and tiaras in that dressing room!!!

Welcome moonshine.
What a source of info you are.
One of the cast members also said that the same cast member dropped out of their production of Guys and Dolls. Does he have a reputation or what! Anyway, there won't be that many high heels and tiaras as there are only five females in the cast!

hmmm.. theknow... i actually am not aware who the person was who was intending to pull out of Assassins... sounds like you are... would you like to enlighten us?
if it is the same person i was referring to them your comment that he "has a reputation for it" may indeed hold a ring of truth....

No, it's not.
And it looks like he's staying, so let's play nice, kiddies. He's a talented person and he'll bring a lot to his role. Although he is quite stressed at the moment...
Mark Humber has replaced Mick Jahnz as Czolgosz (who left due to Footloose commitments). I can't remember who's been cast as Oswald, I've not met him yet.

I surprised Mick has time to work, with all the shows he is in each year Mark Humber is a really nice guy - good luck to him! Buff

On a completely different note, do you know yet whether Matt is the Matt from Melbourne, Tash?
