Not so fast Talissa, there are a fair few months before rehearsals begin, during that time he could very well have some private coaching if they want him. That has been done before. That doesn't change the fact that I found the statement amusing as I read it. I never said I was assuming safe territory. |

Why is everyone so down on the (possible) casting of Anthony Callea and Rob Mills? Both are good strong performers who were around long before their appearance on Idol, working the wedding, cabaret and band circuit. So they have done their groundwork. I for one, would much rather see a performer with some experience win the role over last years WAPPA or similar graduate. Let the graduates do some time in the chorus and earn their stripes first.

Anthony Callea I can deal with. He's a good performer, at the very least. Rob Mills, however, I can't stand. If you call him a good strong performer, I truly worry for our talent pool.

I think Anthony Callea would actually make a pretty good Boq. But I'm sorry, I can't see Rob Mills as being a good Fiyero unless he's drastically improved since I saw him last. And I'm happy to be proved wrong, but from what I *have* seen, I can't imagine him pulling off a good Fiyero. There's those who'll argue that Fiyero's a small part that's not that wonderfully written in any case, so it doesn't require a particularly strong actor, and I've seen these arguments crop up before and think they're ridiculous...Fiyero requires a really good actor to make you actually BELIEVE that he can do an about face. I've seen two good Fiyeros and a handful of less good ones who sing pretty but that's about it. Last time I saw Rob Mills, he'd have fit into that latter category.

I really doubt that Delta Goodrem was ever a contender or even interested in doing this. I doubt she could sing it and what she would be asking financially would blow the budget.

a girl called Peny Macnamee is nessa rose, dobson is dillamond, kirkpatrick is morrible, harrison is elphaba alternate and taking over after menzel, durak is galinda, callea turned boq down

Where do these rumours come from are they reliable? saying Anthony Callea is out (when did Callea turn down the role) and Adam Garcia in are you saying he is being cast as Boq? and Rob Mills is Fiyero, now that would be a radical casting if ever there was one. But if Garcia is in as Fiyero where does that leave Millsy and his big news coming soon. (understudy.....  ) |
