hey hey! i'm invading this board! move over everyone antony is here ;D i thought i'd start off by saying that i think they should bring the Mackintosh production of Oklahoma over here... I've been watching the recent London cast on video... and i think the following cast would work REALLY well: Curly: No one else but Hugh Jackman could do this role. He was really REALLY good in the London version, and I think he'd do an AWESOME job over here Laurie: I think Amanda Harrison would be suited well to the role of the cute farm girl (Also I'd love to hear her use her soprano range to its full extent Wil Parker: I think either David Campbell has a perfect voice for this role, but according to various UN NAMED SOURCES... his dancing would look somewhat of "a chair in a blender" LOL Ado Annie: Tamsin Carroll. Big Mezzo Belter Voice, and she'd be funny to see playing such a ditzy character... I reckon her Annie would be quite humourous! Aunt Eller: I feel that someone accomplished like Judi Connelli should be given this role. Jud Fry: I have no idea! Ali Hakim: This character would be the hardest part to cast. Persian accent would be a killer. The part was played badly in London by Peter Polycarpou...any ideas?

Welcome Anthony - you've won me over all ready Ado Annie: Tamsin Carroll. Big Mezzo Belter Voice, and she'd be funny to see playing such a ditzy character... I reckon her Annie would be quite humourous! Good choice - esp. since Ado Annie was my fave character in Oklahoma so I'd definitely agree with that casting!

I saw the show for the first time a week ago (not the London version, but an amatuer production). Really enjoyed it. Good casting! The Ali Hakim I saw would slip into an Indian accent every now and then ;D but was brilliant. Not sure if he would be up professional standard though Buff

Some good casting ideas there. Didn't you see the recent Production Company Performance of it? it was cast perfectly. and was, I believe, the most successful production company show in its history? They should lift the cast directly and make a national tour of it with the production values of the London one and the success it gained.
Mitchell Butel was awesome as Ali hakim dont need to look any further on that one. And the Jud Fry they had was gobsmacking. Took my breath away.
But they have done it here- the production values were low, but the cast was brilliant.
