Does anyone happen to know the date this will be announced? I know it will be in about two weeks, but am not sure exactly when it will be.

Not to worry. I found the announcement date and the finalists, so here they are.
Destiny's Prize - Andrey Kretsch, Mike Brady, Paul Wiltshire (Melbourne) Hash Honey - Lorrae Desmond, Gael Ballantyne, Charlie Hull, Martine De Cock (Sydney) King of the World - Peter Murphy, Jonathan Densem, Damon Fealy (Melbourne) Metro Street - Matthew Robinson (Melbourne) Musical, The Musical - Guy Noble, Meredith O'Reilly (Melbourne) A Thousand And One Nights - Max Lambert, Linda Nagle (Sydney) Obsession (an opera) - Brian Howard (Perth)
The winner will be announced at the Pratt mansion on the 24th of November.

At the STC function last Sunday they had a song from Metro Street - very funny.
Big question is who will be the artists performing the finalists' songs at the Pratt Prize announcement?
Lucy Durack will most likely sing the song from Metro Street.

Well I've only had to lend you two tapes.. Did you get a copy of Ian/Rachael/Michael also? Shane Bourne was on yesterday also but nothing too interesting. You really haven't missed an awful lot. It's getting a bit disheartening to tape it every day and then just speed through the entire thing because I don't want an hour of Moira and then an hour of Aus Idol

I haven't seen Ian/Rachael/Michael And I'm sure I'd watch GMA more if it was still in the old format. The new format is just creeping closer to Kerri-Ann, which is not a good thing. And really, after Eureka's closed, there's going to be even less worth watching it for. And that's enough because I didn't mean for this to turn into an anti-GMA thread.

And the winner is... Matthew Robinson's Metro Street. I knew it. And he deserves it. On his birthday, too! What a day Will stop now, or I'll start gushing. ~Julia
