A brilliant show - loved every minute of it Actually, I tell a lie - there was one song I could have done without but it was performed well at least. Of course! Couldn't expect anything less from such a terrific line-up.
Without going through the whole set-list because I feel like I've been writing too much lately and you're all going to be sick of it soon if you're not already, my own top 5 highlights of the night were:
If My Friends Could See Me Now - performed by Sharon Millerchip. An absolute delight to watch; such an adorable little ball of energy! And so perfectly in character. This was my introduction to seeing Sharon perform, and she certainly made a good impression!
Adelaide's Lament - performed by Marina Prior. She had me in tears!! Even after seeing her brilliant turn as Annie Oakley, I just wasn't expecting it.
Nowadays - performed by Nancye Hayes. I'd love to be able to see her in a really big role. Connecting all the little bits is fun, but I want more!
Shakin' the Blues Away - performed by Rhonda Burchmore. Wow. That's all.
Sing For Your Supper - performed by Marina Prior, Geraldine Turner, and Rhonda Burchmore. Didn't like the song before last night. They were amazing.
And here's the setlist, for interests' sake:
Broadway Baby (all six)
Sing For Your Supper (Marina, Geraldine and Rhonda)
