This interview with Joel Schumacher confirms the three leads cast for the PotO movie. It doesn't sound too disappointing. I've never seen/heard any of these that I can remember, so I won't condemn them until I have a right to. www.moviehole.net/news.php?newsid=1667~Julia

Yeah, your right....could definitely be better, but could be a whole lot worse as well.....(Antonio Bandares)
I think if we go into the movie not expecting it to be like the musical, as JS and Patrick Wilson's comments are implying that a completely different angle is being taken with the young actors, the swordfights, the horse riding and the great battle between Raoul and Erik. So it will be different, for better or for worse, who knows, but part of me is glad I saw POTO a long time ago, it's not fresh in my memory and even though I know the show - lol, how much did that rhyme - off by heart, it won't be fresh in my mind from the stage.
And what's with JS comments about the MC fans staying home, maybe he's been getting a few too many letters from MC fans but if he's going to get all nasty about it maybe the MC fans will stay at home, which is taking a HUGE chunk out of the population that would go and see this movie.
I don't know whether the casting of normal movies is speculated about as much as this, but this has been absolutely crazy and I'm really just glad it's all over.

Oh yeah, I forgot.
Apparently there are some clips of Emmy singing on her homepage but they were for a movie where she played a country and western type girl and therefore don't really give a good indication as to whether she can actually sing or not.
Well, time well tell although hopefully ALW was responsible for Emmy, who ever suggested Katie Holmes doesn't have a clue.

And I just listened to one of those songs on Emmy's site, okay....VERY un-Christine like but only because the character she was playing was a country girl. It's a duet and I can't tell whether she's got the higher or lower part...but both are pretty good. She hasn't got the wispy voice, aka Katie Holmes, that I was fearing which is a good sign.
