If Jekyll and Hyde was brought to Australia, do you think it would be likely that they'd make changes to the Broadway version? Just they made changes to Cats and Chess I think, and if they did decide to offer Anthony Warlow the role, after hearing about his opinion on the Broadway version, I think they might make a few changes so that he'd agree to do it. Which would be fantastic, both because it would mean seeing Anthony as Jekyll/Hyde, and some of the less popular changes from the concept recording would reversed. What do you think?

I've never had the joy of listening to the concept recording or seeing the show. What changes were made? I'm assuming there were songs/scenes cut. Does it make much different? I suppose it's a bit like Les Miserables. Songs, scenes and lines cut in the name of making it a reasonable running length. Buff

Well, there were enough changes for Anthony to say they'd butchered it. I don't know exactly what was done, but a few fantastic songs were cut, including Lucy's introduction song, 'Bring on the Men', so that when she sings 'Nobody Knows Who I Am', the audience doesn't have any idea either. I'll get back to you on the exact changes.

I must say I preferred some of the Broadway bits....but not alot of it. Emma's reasons isn't in the 94 version and I really adore that song, it explains Emma's character quite a bit and you don't think of her as the typical Cosette type character after that. Lost in the Darkness is another song cut it which is a bit of a tear jerker for Jekyll, but I can see how they thought it could be scrapped. I prefer the 'Dangerous Game' Broadway version although I much prefer Anthony singing it, or any other song for that matter, than Robert Cuccioli. Esp Confrontation, that sends shivers down my spine. Ahem, but back on track. But I prefer Bring on the Men MUCH more than Good n Evil, that song is just a little, strange. And HIS work and nothing more is MUCH better than Your work and nothing more, both in the actual music and the singers. Your work sounds like a screaming match at the end, and HIS work has the tingly affect, like Confrontation. Then of course there is the issue of taking out the songs The world has gone insane, and I need to know. I need to know is amazing as well, it's probably just Warlow but hey, great song. I don't like Girl's of the Night much either, although this is in the Concept album, just to confuse you. Good at explaining how Lucy feels, and some of the others girls in the same position but musically, meh. So basically, this is just me saying in a veru long winded way that I'd rather they squished the two together because the Broadway version leaves out alot of Jekyll/Warlow's great songs which would be sad, but I guess at least they've been recorded. I would definitely fly to the Eastern States to see this one, esp if it had Warlow in it
