Well, I'm hardly in a position to compare them, seeing as I've only heard music from Parade, but I like that, even though it reminds me of studying "To Kill a Mockingbird" in Year 9  I like the music enough, though, that I think I'll even buy the CD, perhaps even before Jekyll & Hyde (!) ~Julia |

Parade is a really cool musical too. Do you know any other JRB musicals? I would like to listen to them if there are any.

Well, there's also The Last Five Years (which I'll hopefully be going to see  , and I think there's a new one called Urban Cowboy. I must say that, even though I've never seen one of his shows, and I've only just heard his music for the first time, I'm intrigued. ~Julia |

haven't heard any so there is absolutely no imoput in this post apart from the fact that i am not doing to kill a mockingbird in yr 9... interesting how they swap books around, yes? i've read though, and thought it was really good.. i'd have hated studying it though... actually i hate studying most things...

When I saw the forum title "Jason Robert Brown" my first reaction was "Who?  " Reading the threads I realise I've heard of his musicals (Song for a New World, The Last Five Years) but don't know anything about them, him or the songs in the shows. I guess it's like anything..the more you learn about what you don't know, the more you learn that you don't know.  Buff  |

Well, as I've said, I've only just found out who he is recently, but what I've seen, I've been impressed by. The guy playing Javert in my production seems to swear by him. JRB's definitely a composer with a lot of promise, though.
