So, does anyone know what professional shows are going to be starting next season? Especially in Melbourne. For instance, what's taking over from Guys & Dolls? ta

I personally lost interest when all there was to read here was about Tasmanian amateur theatre of which l have no interest. Can I make a suggestion? Why don't the Tasmanian amateur groups set up their own site?

well, i knew about all of them but 9 to 5. The line up sounds all right.. By "tatty" do you really think the production company's shows are bad?
And legally blonde and xanadu.. barf.. Can't we at least have spring awakening.. or better yet.. a sondheim.. *gasps and falls off chair*
Thanks anyway!

Would you like Tasmanians to apologise for having a thriving musical theatre community, Yonkers? A couple of the Tasmanian amateur companies already have their own websites, but it seems silly to have individual musical theatre forums when Wayakka is here. If you want different content, why don't you post some yourself? I personally lost interest when all there was to read here was about Tasmanian amateur theatre of which l have no interest. Can I make a suggestion? Why don't the Tasmanian amateur groups set up their own site?

If all the guests that visit here registered, and then they, and all the other registered users started posting, this place would be thriving and Tassie theatre talk would be in the minority. Until that happens there's not much we can do. Buff

So, does anyone know what professional shows are going to be starting next season? Especially in Melbourne. Isn't Billy Elliott coming to Melbourne at some stage in 2009? Buff

FROM BILLY ELLIOT WEBSITE:
The highly acclaimed Billy Elliot the Musical is currently playing Sydney’s Capitol Theatre until 9 November.
At the conclusion of the Sydney season, Billy Elliot is moving to Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, playing from December 2008.
ENDS
I believe the show previews from December 13, and if memory serves, the "Official Opening Night" is New Year's Eve (I think!)
Also, while on the Tassie theme, John X will continue in his role as Mr Braithwaite, Colin Dean is in the Ensemble and Joshua Waiss-Gates is one of several young actors playing the title role.
GO, TASSIE, GO!!!!!

Yurk. I don't like Billy Elliot. Oh well.
Anyway.. What do you mean about the production companys shows being tatty? I know people who have been leads in their shows.. I didn't think they were tatty! Are they?
