DRILL Performance Company is searching for 10 to 12 young people to be a part of its new Launceston based dance-theatre project, Fy!
DRILL will venture into new territory when it weaves a world of water and iron onstage. Inspired by the fantastical worlds created by literary greats such as J.R.R Tolkien, Fy pays tribute to the concepts of creation and immortality through the story of a world named Irda.
Being a part of Fy, you will have the chance to work alongside emerging professional performers and dancers from across the country in a high energy, visually spectacular stage production. You will perform on our unique set of a stage-sized pool of water and scaffold, in a custom made fantasy-inspired costume, and have your hair styled by award-winning BladeRunner Hairdressing.
Rehearsals take place throughout January 2010, where you will not only be a part of the choreographic process, but also learn about the craft of dancing and dance-making, improve upon your own performance skills and fitness, and meet new and interesting people.
Auditions are being held in Launceston on September 19th, and are open to anyone with any amount of training and experience. For more information, to download the audition pack, and to register, visit
