“'A fresh new score, written by a bright new voice demanding to be heard'
-John Weidman introducing Mel Brooks as writer of The Producers.
Whilst The Producers is a good old fashioned traditional MUSICAL COMEDY, its purpose is simply to entertain, to make you laugh and to allow you to leave the performance feeling exhilarated.
It has dazzle; glamour; beautiful girls; feathers; sequins; romantic ballads; big dance routines; comic cameos and throw away lyrics filled with wit.
It is brazen and bawdy but complimented with sweetness and innocence. The audience can allow themselves to relax and laugh out loud … After all, with a premise of “DISASTER IS SUCCESS”, what could go wrong? Right?
The Producers is a musical that offers opportunity for many talented performers in our community. From the big sound of the orchestra, the slick stage crew, the dancing guys and gals, the comedians and of course the agile singers, there are roles for all. A large Cast with a large support crew is needed to bring this comedy to life…
Be warned … You will work hard, you will have fun and you will entertain!”
