Auditions for Encore Theatre Company's production of "Beauty and the Beast" are rapidly approaching. They are to be held 28-30 May at the Launceston College Drama rooms. Attached is a information sheet. The role of the Beast has been pre-cast. Buff  Attachments:

Ta muchly Buff. I think I'm goiong to have to try out for this one.
I heard that the Dean Cocker (Javert from Les Mis) is the one cast as the Beast. He was awesome in Les Mis and will be just great in this show too.

There was an audition notice in the Examiner on Saturday, particulalry calling for male auditionees. That, coupled with Facebook comments, tend to indicate that they may struggle to cast the male roles. Also, I know the MD is unable to lead the orchestra during the actual performances, so they are looking to fill that position as well. Buff |

MD - Matt Dudfield
Vocal/Choral Director - Natalie Bramich
Conductor - Katrina Chilcott
Plus repetiteurs
AUDITION UPDATE
Almost all available audition times are now booked and in the interests of finding the best possible talent for the production, Encore have indeed put the call out, particularly for additional male auditionees.
Competition for all roles will be fierce, and to date some 28+ women will try out for the role of Belle... it's gonna be a BIG audition weekend with more than 110 people already registered.
The production team is ready, the set is amazing, the costumes are sumptuous... so what are you waiting for?

this is why i am going for Mrs Potts or Madam De La Grand Bouche. lol... I am also auditioning for the chorus.. I want to be in this play so bad I will happily play a tree

I have fingers, toes and legs crossed.. lol..
Hopfully will hear by tomorrow... By the sounds of it, there were not too many sopranos who auditioned

Cast list is pending... just waiting until we have been able to speak to all successful auditionees to confirm their involvement.
