I haven’t heard of Shadowlands. What’s it about? I guess some of my faves are A midsummers night’s dream, the Crucible, Death of a Salesman and I just saw the play Rusty Bugles…that was great. Ooh, Cosi is funny too, and my sister was involved in a production of the Real Inspector Hound, it’s absurdist drama which basically means it’s very very strange, but it was very enjoyable and funny.

I really enjoy "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Noises Off". A couple of weeks ago, I saw a show (not really a play) where 5 actors did readings from the Court of England over the centuries, tracing the history of the monarchy. It's called "The Hollow Crown" - fantastic stuff. There wasn't alot of acting as such, but it was still great. Buff

Is The Hollow Crown touring? It was playing at the theatre at my uni a couple of weeks ago. The play that's running at the Alex (theatre at uni) at the moment is The Christian Brothers, and it looks really interesting. I think it's only a cast of one, and it seems intriguing. I'd go if it wasn't running in my busiest time It's starring Peter Carroll (the Governor from MoLM) ~Julia

Though I doubt the rest of the class will get these "bawdy jests". Jheejhee. Me and Sailor willsimply have to snigger in silence at their ignorance and incompetence!!! Mwahahahaha!

Shadowlands is about C.S. Lewis's private life. It tells how he married a lady much younger than him, how she dies of cancer, and how he and her son deal with the grief. It's a really good show.

I saw 'Trelawney of the Wells' (which I probably spelled wrong) in Melbourne a few years ago and really loved it. Much Ado About Nothing is also great. Um... I really can't think of any more. Sure I've seen more plays I liked.. Oh well.

Yeah I know what you mean...I can never think of them off the top of my head.
Much ado about nothing is fantastic too, I love Beatrice, that would be a fantastic role to play! I also like Hamlet *gasp.* I know it's EXCESSIVELY long, but we studied it in lit and it truly is remarkable. Although I've seen the whole production, and while I did enjoy every moment of it, it was tad long.

I've always love Pinter's "The Dumbwaiter"... Although some would class it as theatre of the absurd, it really falls into it's own category of theatre of menace. Throughout the play there's an implication of violence, but you don't actually see anything... And the ending is great....
And of course you can't forget Shakespeare, I've never been a big fan of Romeo and Juliet, but I adore Hamlet.

I love Hamlet as well Eowyn! I studied it last eyar for my HSC, then I did a theatre review on it this year for theatre, AND I'm also studying it at the moment for english ;D I should be sick of it, but it keeps growing on me each time I study/see it...
I love Shakespeare! Absolute fan! I managed to convince an english lecturer to let me do the Shakespeare english course for second uni session this year, because they're not gonna offer it and I really, really, really want to do it! ;D

At the moment, I'm really into the two I am doing - Midsummer Night's Dream and an excellent British theatre-of-the-bizarre called Was He Anyone - 'tis muchos funny

Everytime I say I like Hamlet and Shakespeare I get, at the very least, strange looks, or just whacked depending on how well I know the person. So I’m glad there’s another Shakespeare nerd out there. Hamlet is such a cool play, they could do a very interesting modern version of that, speaking of which, I really want to see ‘O’, although it’s been out for ages I’ve been lazy and just not got it. I think Hamlet is so interesting because there is no limit as to how deep you can go into the play, we studied it in year 11 literature which I think was a bit young to be doing Hamlet. Even so it was great, I rented out the Kenneth Braughan (sp?) version which is the ENTIRE thing…very long! I saw it live once as well where the script hadn’t been edited, I had a sore bum by the end of the play, sitting in that chair for so long, but the guy playing Hamlet was an excellent actor so it was okay.

I should also add that I love Titus Andronicus (shakespeare's bloodiest play)... And Beckett's Waiting for Godot and the Aussie play Love Child...
