I don't watch the show, but a friend tells me they've taken to naming all the episodes after Sondheim songs as the creator, Marc Cherry, is a fan.
After the Pilot they had:
Ah, But Underneath Pretty Little Picture Who's that Woman?
Then after six episodes with names from elsewhere, they made a perfect run right up to the end of the season:
Move On Every Day a Little Death Your Fault Love Is in the Air (a.k.a. What I Did for Love) Impossible The Ladies Who Lunch There Won't Be Trumpets Children Will Listen Live Alone and Like It (a.k.a. An Unexpected Song) Fear No More Sunday in the Park with George Goodbye For Now One Wonderful Day
Notice both the a.k.a. titles come from non Sondheim musicals. Where they were used though I don't know. I had seen the title "The Ladies Who Lunch" in passing and laughed. I had no idea though it was a running gag.

Oh, good. When I saw that subject header I was scared. Nice to see it's something relatively innocuous Well fancy that. There are Sondheim fans everywhere! Now, if I knew Sondheim a little better, had the time, and didn't know better, I'd go and watch the show in case there were references. But it won't come to that.

Hah, I'm not much of a Sondheim fan - I had a giggle over 'The Ladies Who Lunch' as well, but that was it - but then the only other two I'd recognise I see haven't aired here yet in any case

I'm grateful to say I've never watched "Desparate Houswives" - I'm not that much of a desparate house husband! Buff
