Hey guys, we had our closing night of Salomé last night - the show run went really well.
This was my first time directing, and I was really happy with how it all turned out.
I did it in the round, and made it a physical theatre piece. The dance of the seven veils became the dance of the seven elastics (
), in a rhythm-based, intense, rape-like scene. The whole sounscape was live - created by my actors. I figured, if you're going to risk screwing up one area with experimentation, you might as well risk screwing them all up
