Thank you for the info. Do you know if there is a CD for it?

Yes, there is. I've seen it advertised around amazon.com . I haven't actually looked for it in any shops yet, though.

I just heard that, due to the success of the Melbourne run, Echelon's The Last Five Years will be playing in Sydney later this year, before returning to Melbourne, and then going to Perth early next year.
It isn't from an official source as far as I know, but I hope it's true, because it really is a show worth seeing.

!!!!!! This is fantastic news, well for at least me in Perth! Good work Talissa, let us know if anything else comes up on this, this Jason Brown must be amazing to be compared to Sondheim, this show is quite intriguing.
I just re-read your review, (good job by the way, I hate it when people just gush over the show and then call it a critique...not that you hammered it or anything.)
Very interested in this now, I haven't really seen any musicals that sound like this one, I've only seen the typical, dramatic type I.e. Phantom, Les Mis. If it comes to Perth I'll definitely be going although it's awhile away if your sources are correct, *praying that they are*

Ooops, I did say Sondheim, didn't I? I checked that review which had called him that, and it's actually Gershwin. Which is still pretty good, but in a different direction. Definitely go see it if you get a chance. I'm the same. I like the dramatic/historical musicals, but I enjoyed this. ~Julia

Yeah, definitely a different style of music. And I haven't heard much of Sondhiem's work so technically I can't make a judgement, but I love Gerswin and to be put in the same sentence as either of those men is an accomplishment to say the least.

Aha! I knew I wasn't going mad! I just found a reference to JRB being compared to Sondheim. So I'm right. Odd as it is, he's been compared to both Sondheim and Gershwin.
