I've just heard that The Full Monty will be playing at Melbourne's State Theatre for 12 weeks from New Year's Eve.

Does anyone know anything about the stage version of this show? Or could someone who's seen the movie give me some idea of what it would be like?

I'll give more details about the Melbourne production as I hear them.

I've seen the movie and it's great.

From what I can gather they adapt the show to suit what country it's in. The movie is set in Sheffield, UK where the steel industry went pear-shaped, so lots of redundancy. That of course, wouldn't work in, say, USA so they change the setting.

Other than that I don't know much except that the actors are naked at the end.

Theatrepeople have been kind enough to post the latest information as to the details of this production, including some of the cast, which will include, Paul Mercurio (Sydney Dance Company; Strictly Ballroom), Michael Veitch (D-Generation; Fast Forward), Val Jellay (Flying Doctors; Neighbours), Laura Fitzpatrck (Songs For A New World) and Rowena Wallace (The Vagina Monologues; Home and Away), with Matt Hetherington (Hair; Marshall Law) in the role made famous in the movie by Robert Carlysle.
