'Rocky Horror' will be coming back to Melbourne in the new year. Also an arena version of 'Les Mis' and 'Cinderella' is also on it's way.
Now, please excuse me while I go out and start skipping and dancing. Les Mis!!!

YAY!!!! And for once I can be happy! By that time I'll be able to fly over and see them, if I can save the money.
Woohooo!!! Les Miserables here I come!

Also an arena version of 'Les Mis' and 'Cinderella' is also on it's way. Excuse my ignorance, but what is an "arena version"? Not that it matters, because it's Les Mis and I will want to see it. I'm just curious. Thanks! Buff

An "Arena Version" is one of those big, overblown semi-concert performances they do at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. You might remember the one a number of years back of JC Superstar with John Farnham. Not wishing to sound pessimistic, but arena productions haven't had a lot of luck in the past few years. Several have been proposed and advertised, but have gone belly-up before they get a chance to get on stage. But, we can keep our fingers crossed for the Les Mis one Cheers Pat

Thanks for that, OzHair. I remember reading about the JCS one, but didn't get to see it. The stretch of water between Tassie and the rest of Australia is very expensive Buff

I thought it would be something like that. I'm not sure how Cinderella would go, but I'm fairly sure the name of Les Mis would ensure success.
I just hope they don't make it too commercial by trying to throw as many big names in there as possible.
I'll still go see it no matter what, though.

Big names, do you mean big musical names, or normal actors/actresses? Oh dear....that would not be good, at all.
And I didn't know there was a musical of Cinderalla, hang on, was it made into a video with some Brandy girl and Whitey Houston? That's a cute one, I love Cinderella's "In my own little corner" song in that.

Oh, big musical names would be fine. Big musical names would be wonderful!
It's people like Lisa McCune who have made the transition from TV to musicals, or pop to musicals, who can get irritating sometimes. Some of them do have genuine talent, but a lot of them are sadly lacking.
Yes, that sounds about right. I remember something about a song called "In My Own Little Corner" from Cinderella. I haven't seen the film version, though.

Yeah.... ~drooling at the thought of Warlow and Quast being in Les Miserables~ Okay, I know that won't happen, but still....~sigh~ A girl can dream, can't she? Cinderella was on TV awhile back, that's the only reason I saw it but it was a well written musical, I'd definitely see it if I was in Melbourne at the time.
