I've been considering holding a fan-held reflection at the end of June next year for the musicals, plays, opera...whatever you like, that has been on stage over the past year. Of course, to do this, I need to ask you a few things. Firstly, what categories would you like? I'm thinking that there'll be categories of:

Professional musicals
Non-professional musicals
Professional plays
Non-professional plays

"Musicals" will also incorporate opera and anything else with music.

Then, there will be sub-categories including:

Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Performed Song
Best Choreography
Best Lighting
Best Costumes
Best Set

This won't be an awards ceremony as such (Unless we get an immense rise in members between now and then), rather a reminder of what has happened over the past year, and what we thought really shone.

Anyway, I'm telling you this now so that you can make sure you keep everything you see over the next 11 months in mind.

Also, tell me what you think. If this is just entirely far-fetched, tell me so

That's the main problem I foresee - not many people here yet and also we're spread far and wide so getting the to see the same shows and deciding which were the best will be hard. We may end up with one vote for every actor (except Mr Warlow, of course!) and every show.

It's a good idea but maybe once we get some more people. How about instead, we just keep track of the things we each see and then have a year of highlights thread, rather than an "awards" thing?

And yes, the year of highlights is exactly what I had in mind.

And Lana, bloopers are definitely a good idea, so everyone keep your eyes peeled next time you see a show.
