A wildly funny, smash hit New York Revue with an all-star cast of
Australia’s top cabaret talents. This production comes to Chapel off
Chapel direct from it’s premiere season at Kabarett Voltaire, Sydney and
stars four of the country’s brightest cabaret talents.
“Kooky Tunes is easily one of the funniest and most entertaining shows
I’ve Ever seen” – David Hunt – Show Business Weekly, New York.
"A MUST SEE" Colin Rose, The Sun Herald, Sydney
"A non-stop laugh riot…” Peter Leavy – Cabaret Scenes – New York
“Kooky Tunes” played to sell-out runs at Eighty Eights in New York. It
went on to play the Westbank Café and Don’t Tell Mama in New York and
developed quite a cult following. It was released as a live album in
September last year to fantastic sales, and quickly became a great
source of new songs for budding cabaret artists. This is the first
production outside of New York and it started at Kabarett Voltaire in
Sydney's Kings Cross directed by David Hawkins and Kooky Steps by Ross
Coleman, it enjoyed great success and since then has played the National
Press Club in Canberra also to rave reviews.
SHARON MILLERCHIP most recently played Velma Kelly in the Australian
production of “Chicago”. She first rose to prominence when she
originated the role of Meg in “Phantom Of The Opera” for Cameron
Mackintosh. She also starred in “Beauty And The Beast”, “Into The
Woods”, “They’re Playing Our Song” and “Cats”.
EDDIE PERFECT exploded on to the Melbourne cabaret scene some months
ago. His appearances at the 2003 Sydney Cabaret Convention, and the 2003
Adelaide Cabaret Festival consolidated his reputation not only as an
exciting young songwriter but also as a charismatic performer.
KAYE TUCKERMAN has just returned from New York after winning the New
York Prize at the 2003 Sydney Cabaret Convention. While in New York she
appeared in the New York Cabaret Convention and at Mama Roses. She has
appeared in many musicals including “The Boy From Oz”, “Buddy”, “Les
Miserables”, “South Pacific” and the blockbuster film “Matrix Reloaded.
ANDREW BENSON is famous in Sydney for "Aunty Mavis" and has appeared in
a range of shows, such as A Chorus Line, Crazy for You and Beatrice. His
film and TV credits include Home and Away and Moulin Rouge.
