Are Maximillian and Isadora Sault. (just joking )
Here's the real program for the rest of the year. All performances are at Hamer Hall (it's going to take me a while to get used to that), and tickets are $15, I think.
Stacey’s Stars of the Future
The phenomenal Rhonda Burchmore will host this tribute to the diverse musical talents of the late Brian Stacey. Dearly loved and an inspiration to many, Stacey was a strong supporter of young and new talent. This irresistible hour of song and dance will feature some of the cast of The Producers with the Monash Uni Big Band and a special guest appearance from well known baritone, Roger Lemke.
Monday 26 July
11am & 1.30pm
Inside This Room
Australia’s darling of opera, David Hobson, guides you on a personal music journey through his distinguished career. Most recently seen in The Mikado, Hobson showcases his versatility with his unmistakable dramatic vocals and unique songwriting talents. His distinctive voice – “lyrical, light and full of emotion” – is set to thrill.
Monday 23 August
11am & 1.30pm
Songs from the Silver Screen
Sultry siren, Deborah Robertson, transports you back to the golden years of Hollywood with Ava, Rita, Doris, Marilyn and more. Robertson will ignite the stage with her incredible voice as she remembers the best ‘songs from the silver screen’ including Cry Me a River, Cheek to Cheek, Put the Blame on Mame and Every Baby Needs a Da Da Daddy.
Wednesday 22 September
11am & 1.30pm
Remembering Smacka
This special Morning Melodies event brings back fond memories of Graham Francis Fitzgibbon – the jazz entertainer known to all as Smacka, who passed away 25 years ago. Join Smacka’s daughter Nichaud Fitzgibbon, as she plays tribute to his music and recreate the exuberant New Orleans vibe of Smacka’s Place, Melbourne’s most famous jazz club in the 1970s.
Monday 8 November
11am & 1.30pm
Christmas Melodies
Capture the spirit of Christmas with all your favourite carols – hosted by Rachael Beck and Michael Cormick featuring the talents of Alison Wedding and Jerson Trinidad. We invite you to sing along with the Grimwade House Choir from Melbourne Grammar School and the Australian Showband under the musical direction of Daryl McKenzie.
Monday 6 December
