STC will be officially unveiling their 2005 lineup next week. I missed the subscriber briefing last night so I can't tell you who's going to be in what, but I can confirm the following productions for 2005 and yes it does indeed include a musical! * The Daylight Atheist * The Permanent Way * Influence (with Zoe Carides) * Democracy (with John Gaden) * Old Times (with I think Heather Mitchell) * Two Brothers (Gary McDonald and * Julius Ceasar (with Robert Menzies) * Summer Rain* The Give and Take * Boy Gets Girl (with Miranda and Barry Otto) * Festen (with Jeremy Sims) * The Cherry Orchard * Stella and the Moon Man (with Peter Carroll) ***** Now I'm hoping by a miracle since Summer Rain is a musical and if there's a role suitable for Tamsin that she might be doing the production - one can only dream ETA: Mitchell and Genevieve will be headlining Summer Rain

Lisa McCune has been added to the Summer Rain lineup I'll say it again, yay What with that and possible Hats Off and possible Eureka, I can see me getting to know Sydney as well as Melbourne within the next year That's August into early Sep though - maybe we can have Renee in Urinetown after all, whenever they're going to slot that show in!

Speaking of Summer Rain - does anyone know of a website that has a list of the lyrics (songs, etc) - I'm trying to figure out who else could wander into the production

Can't find lyrics or anything either. There is a song called 'Once in a Blue Moon' though (Which "tells the story of a group of tent performers stranded in an outback town.") Parts for 6 males and 7 females but don't know size etc. And one female character is called Ruby Slocum. Gee google's good at times

Also in Democracy will be Philip Quast, who will be gracing the Australian stages with his presence once more, after finishing A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum in London. Also in the cast will be Brandon Burke, Maeliosa Stafford and Sean Taylor.
And while we're at it, Influence will star Vanessa Downing, Edwin Hodgeman and John Waters alongside Zoe Carides; Old Times will have Angela Punch McGregor and William Zappa; The Give And Take will have John Adam and Garry McDonald in the cast; and Festen will star Ron Haddrick, Victoria Longley, Kate Mulvany, Angela Punch McGregor, Jeremy Sims and Frank Whitten.

I'm waiting for The Cherry Orchard cast - that is going to have a cast on the scale of Hedda Gabler - since it'll be a company of STC actors, etc.
Can I start a thread for Bell Shakespeare company or not? <g> Even though it is straight theatre and not musical theatre?

I think I can let you do so this time I'm not all that strict, especially when certain people are in casts.

He was Miles Gloriosus, or however it's spelt. It's closed now, though.

That's very weird I was under the impression John Gaden was going to be playing Willy Brandt.
Oh well JG as the deputy shall be good to watch - I'm positive I did decide to see that play - purely because it's from the same people who brought us Copenhagen, which was brilliant.
