Since some people weren't paying attention when I posted this the first time...

National Living Treasure and Australian music theatre star Anthony Warlow is at the helm as the 'right good captain' and the 'good judge too' in Gilbert and Sullivan's long-time stage mates, HMS Pinafore and Trial by Jury. The star of first choice for directors as illustrious as Trevor Nunn and Hal Prince, Anthony Warlow is one of our most popular artists. He is joined by an inspired group of Opera Australia Savoyards, fresh from the triumps of The Mikado and Iolanthe.

Trial by Jury meets TV soap opera Dynasty in Stuart Maunder's highly acclaimed interpretation which ran for four years at Bow Street Magistrates' Court as part of the Covent Garden Festival in London.

Tony award-winning designer Roger Kirk gives HMS Pinafore a gorgeous, opulent 'Titanic look'.

Word just in that one of the performances in the Melbourne season of OA's HMS Pinafore/Trial By Jury will be recorded and broadcast on ABC. So, if things go as usual, it will be available at some point on video in ABC shops and centres (I feel like an ad

). I'll give more specifics when I learn them. But hurrah for another video! (Let's give three cheers and one cheer more...) I do still need to get hold of Fledermaus, though.

Just bought tickets for this tomorrow (Tues) night from the Ticketmaster website, and saw in very inconspicuous print on the left hand side that it was a "Telecast performance". Not sure yet if that's a good or bad thing. At least I didn't book this Wednesday's matinee, which actually says "Cameras on Stage".

Just in case anybody isn't getting spammed by ticketmaster7, they're offering half rice a reserve tickets if you quote the keyword "WARLOW". Where you quote it is up to you to find out. I've already paid full price.

I never got my half rice when I saw Mikado! Although that raises the question, is the rice half full or half empty?

And I'm seeing Pinafore/Trial tomorrow night, and will be reaping the benefits of rush tickets, although VIBE's offering exactly the same price for tomorrow night. Should be a young crowd, then.

I had a phone call last night from my in-laws to tell me that they are going to Pinafore/Trial tomorrow afternoon.

To make it worse, at night they are going to see James Morrisson in concert. Another of my favourite performers.
