Well, you'd have to avoid row M of the stalls that evening, if you didn't want to bump into me, but if avoiding a whole row is far too difficult, then just steer clear of seat 21 I'm sure that there are several rows I could avoid, but that one might be a bit difficult, since my seat is in it! Luckily, I'll be at the other end. Phew! Now, can anybody help me out with a good reason to avoid Sally, cos otherwise all my planning will be wasted. James

Does anybody know when it's going to close? Is there a set date? I did a quick Google search and couldn't find anything.

The last performance originally scheduled was Feb 25th. I think they have a tiny bit of wiggle room but don't quote me on that. After that they would have to find a new theatre. They tried with Urinetown but there was nothing available. I don't see it happening with this.
But what do I know?

Julia can attest that I poke.

Julia can attest that I poke. I should be safe from that. At least during the show. I think though that in all due fairness seats 20 and 22 should be warned. Just curious; what generally brings on this poking? James

She doesn't need provocation. It really isn't fair!

It's Spelling Bee day everywhere.
There was a thing on Today today with cast interviews and brief snippets from a dress rehearsal, and The Age had a story large enough to go into what William Finn (m/l) and Rachel Sheinkin (book) have planned while they're in Melbourne?!?!
With any luck Melbourne will get a reputation for 2nd in the world productions. Since Beauty and the Beast there's been Witches of Eastwick, We Will Rock You and now The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Any luck?... No, I didn't think so.

For those who hadn't heard, Spelling Bee, which had been scheduled to close on 25th Feb, has been extended to 11th March. I hope people didn't have their closing night tickets yet!

I definately don't feel old anymore. Just by being under 35 and putting up with a tiny of spam I get this for Spelling Bee: Anybody silly enough not to be a "Savvy Member", its probably too late for this offer, but you probably should go to www.mtc.com.au and click on "Box Office" then "Under 35's". At this price I couldn't care less where I sit. Not that I'll have trouble finding someone, but if anybody wants to play the part of guest on Tuesday night, the position will be open for a limited time, provided there are actually seats left. I'll give to the end of the day (Monday). First to post I guess. James

MTC also has day tickets for $16 (generally partial view) available on the day from 9am-12noon. Why didn't I know this during Urinetown??!

I've heard that David Campbell probably won't be doing the Sydney run of Spelling Bee, due to other commitments.

I've heard that David Campbell probably won't be doing the Sydney run of Spelling Bee, due to other commitments. I assumed that was the case since he wasn't in the listing of cast members.

That means the confirmed cast so far is Douglas Panch: Tyler Coppin Rona Lisa Peretti: Marina Prior Mitch Mahoney: Bert Labonte Olive Ostrovsky: Lisa McCune Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre: Christen O’Leary William Barfee: Magda Szubanski Leaf Coneybear: Tim Wright So unless I'm forgetting anyone, Chip is the only character yet to be confirmed? They have a cute new promo shot on the website, too. sydneytheatre.com.au/Performance.asp?pID=200Edit: Yes, I was forgetting someone. Marcy Park. Well, that could be a fun one to cast if Natalie isn't doing Sydney, with Miss Saigon using up so many of the Asian musical theatre actors.
