THE DRAWING BOARD:
Premature Ejaculation - the Musical by Robert Dalle Molle (VIC)
A male response to the highly successful Menopause - the Musical.
Premature Ejaculation - the Musical explores men's sexual health and relationship issues, capturing the larrikin Australian spirit and encouraging men to be empowered about their wellbeing. Four men meet in a pub and through the power of music (and a little alcohol) open up "secret men's business" that most males are reluctant to discuss.
The Beauty Spot by David W. Young (VIC)
A sharp, frizzy, contemporary musical about image in today's society and how it effects the way we treat each other.
Three hilariously loveable beauticians run THE BEAUTY SPOT, catering to a vibrant mix of customers and dealing with their chauvinistic boss Mr. Griggs. Their latest customer, Jane Fraser is desperate for a makeover to help her realise an ambition to be on television. Through her makeover she learns more about the world around her than she could ever know.
Frank Christie Frank Clarke by Peter Fleming and Allan McFadden (NSW)
A hilarious and surprising take on the rise of a media mogul from his bushranger beginnings.
While set, in part, on the gold fields of 1860, and a historical bushranger as the central character, this is not a "bushranger musical". It tells a satirical, comic allegory of how perceptions of good and bad, right and wrong are shaped by the most powerful social force - not morality - the media.
Marlowe/Shakespeare "Love and Other Afflictions" A Musical Entertainment by Stephen Hyde (TAS)
Cross-dressing, sword fighting, excessive drinking and soaring language in the Elizabethan tradition.
In 1593 London, Horace Grinspoon, proprietor of the Rotherhythe Inn, has commissioned Shakespeare and Marlowe to write a musical play to be a vehicle for the talents of his mistress and his daughter. As time progresses the boundary between off stage and onstage events becomes increasingly blurred.
