Some of the biggest and most exciting names in Australian theatre will join forces early next month for a special benefit concert in Sydney.
In August 2004, Matthew Rennie (brother of Shaun, who is currently appearing in Fiddler on the Roof) was diagnosed with leukaemia one month before his 21st birthday. His courage and strength to fight this disease has inspired a team of family and friends to produce the first annual "Light the Night" benefit concert. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Arrow Foundation to help fund research into targeting a cure for Leukaemia.
The secondary aim of the benefit is to raise money for the Haematology Oncology Ward at Liverpool Hospital through a raffle held on the night. Proceeds from the raffle will fund much needed medical equipment for the ward and resources to assist with patient comfort.
Some of the performers scheduled to appear at the event include Judi Connelli, Tim Draxl, Matt Newton, Kane Alexander, Chloe Dallimore, Kaye Tuckerman, Barry Crocker AM, Maggie Kirkpatrick, Lucy Durack, Matthew Robinson, Amanda Muggleton, Danielle Barnes, Scott Irwin, David Harris, Bob Downe, Mitchell Butel, Margi de Ferranti, BPM (Beats Per Minute), Courtney Act, the cast of Fiddler on the Roof and many more.
The "Light the Night" benefit concert will be held on Monday, November 7 at 7:30pm at the City Recital Hall Angel Place. Bookings: 8256 2222.
Premium: $58.50
A Reserve: $48.50
