Five Dynamite Singers. A Grand Piano. A String Quartet.
Opening this summer at Chapel Off Chapel is one of the most anticipated concert events of the year. Inspired by the "Results" album Pet Shop Boys produced for Liza Minnelli in 1989, Seriously reinvents the songs of Pet Shop Boys (Tennant & Lowe).
Seriously will strip back the high energy from their compositions to its purest form, lyric and melody, and showcase them via a grand piano and a string quartet and 5 dynamite singers. In a further reinvention, songs will be deconstructed and put back together in seamless suites. Up tempo numbers will become ballads. Solo songs become duets and trios. Only diehard fans will identify where one song stops and starts. In an evening sung from beginning to end, the familiar will become unfamiliar for the audience to fall in love with all over again. All bets are off.
Handpicking original songs from their extensive catalogue, Seriously will highlight the "moments of relationships." Falling in love, out of love, waiting, uncertainty, jealousy, confusion, bliss.
Profound lyrics. Sumptuous melodies.
Love. Hate. Gay. Straight. This is the soundtrack to our lives.
