So, for those who didn't yet know, STC's putting on MTC's production of Urinetown, with almost the same cast. www.sydneytheatre.com.au/Performance.asp?pID=170However, I've just heard a whisper that for an unknown reason Kane Alexander is now unable to do the production, so Bobby Strong will be played by David Campbell. Anyone know for sure one way or the other? This seems to be something extrememly recent, and I assume there's a good reason.

Lets hope the Kane has something better lined up, rather than something stopping him. These things you hear usually end up being true Julia, and there was the hint on B@B from Ross Coleman that it would star "Lisa McCune and someone as yet unannounced."
That said, I'd very much like to see David play the role.

If it is something better lined up, it'd be fantastic if it's something in this direction, considering he's barely been on stage since the last Urinetown.
And I am very curious to see David in the role.

I'm actually wondering does anyone know when rehearsals for BfO start? Could it be that he's been offered a part in the Arena Spectacular and because of a clash in seasons he had to pull out of Urinetown? That's the immediate thing that comes to mind.
STC will update everyone sooner rather than later - they're usually good when it comes to announcing new cast members, etc.

I'm actually wondering does anyone know when rehearsals for BfO start? It's taken me 2 hours to work out that BfO is "Boy from Oz" I'll be able to sleep tonight. It was bugging me like nothing else. Buff

Okay, so straight from the horse's mouth (so to speak), it's definitely true. I didn't ask whether he knew why Kane wouldn't be doing the role, though, so still watching and waiting there. He seems to be really looking forward to it, though.

Oohhhh, and STC's updated their cast list to include the replacements for Damian, Adam and Mitchell. Ah, it won't be the same without Mitchell. David isn't in the list yet, but here are the rest.
Shane Bourne, Rhonda Burchmore, Sophie Carter, Gerry Connolly, Irene Dios, Gary Down, Darren Gilshenan, Francis Greenslade, Wayne Scott Kermond, Andrew Koblar, Colette Mann, Lisa McCune, Brendan Monger and Christen O'Leary.

Okay I'm not losing my mind that Darren G is one of the 3 replacements right? Because he is freaking unbelievable.

He's always top notch in whatever production he's in. Last year he did his usual BSC productions and got nom'd for a Green Room for MFM.

I imagine he'll be taking over Mitchell's role?
And the other two it's hard to say, but I'm thinking Wayne in Adam's role and Brendan in Damian's.

Hey all! Long time, no post. Thought I should correct one thing. As far as I'm aware Wayne Scott Kermond is replacing Garry Ginnivan. Don't quote me, but I think Brendan and Darren are replacing Adam and Damian (not sure which one in which role...) and Mitch hasn't been replaced as yet. I could be wrong about that last bit but I'm 99% sure Wayne is replacing Garry.... soph xoxox

Thanks Soph! Oops, I didn't even see Garry missing from the cast. There are so many G names it's easy not to notice another missing one ;D Wayne will be great in that role

Thanks for the info sophie.
I honestly don't see Darren taking over Mitchell's role - he could play the role, but he'd be more suited to one of the others.

Just thought I'd post a heads up for people who haven't bought tickets yet that it'd be a good idea to get onto them asap. The run's selling very well and quite a few shows only have single seats left - and I was only checking availability for Tuesday nights!
