Well, it's about time. After two hours battling with the STC website the other week (whaddya mean the tickets I have in my basket are unable to be purchased? #$@&!), ticketek are finally listing the show.. premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=URINETOW06

But blimey, look at all those sold-out dates!

It liked me all right.... I mean, it WORKED for me alright. ;D

I don't think they've been given too many tickets per show. I got a pretty good seat for one of those "Allocation Exhausted" shows from STC. Although admittedly it was just a single ticket.

The Melbourne Theatre Company staged the Australian Premiere of Urinetown in
April/May 2004 at the Arts Centre Playhouse, where it sold out within a week
of opening.

Urinetown is a highly satirical, tongue-in-cheek, quirky tale of big city
greed, corruption and romance on the wrong side of the law, filled with edgy
melodies and exuberant musical numbers. It both celebrates and parodies the
best of Broadway traditions.

Narrated by tough-talking cop, Officer Lockstock (Shane Bourne) and street
urchin Little Sally (Christen O¹Leary) this modern parable takes place in a
city crippled by water shortages from a twenty-year drought (sound
familiar?) which has forced the government to outlaw private toilets. People
may only relieve themselves in public facilities, which are all controlled
by the Urine Good Company, owned by the wicked Caldwell B. Cladwell (Gerry
Connolly) and managed by Penelope Pennywise (Rhonda Burchmore).

An inevitable complication in this battle between good and evil develops
when ditzy daughter Hope (Lisa McCune) falls for the naïve Bobby Strong
(David Campbell) who leads a band of rebels in a revolt against the might of
Cladwell¹s corporate machine.

Urinetown promises to be the funniest and most enjoyable night of musical

Granted it's in the Sydney Theatre which holds 1500 compared to smaller venues.

Maybe it was referencing the original season sold out within the week before they extended the season.
