I was sent this email this evening by one of Todd's friends. He's hoping for a capacity crowd both nights, and it really is for a good cause, so if it's at all possible, I urge you to go along.
TODD TO HOST BENEFIT NIGHT
Todd McKenney, the original star of "The Boy from Oz" as well as Cabaret" and "Singin' in the Rain" will host a benefit night for Emily Barker at the Waldorf Apartment Hotel on Mounts Bay Road, Perth on 21and 22 November, 2003.
On 31 March, 2003 Emily's mum Catherine was driving Emily to school when a semi-trailer collided with the family's Holden Barina at a Beechboro intersection. Catherine, died soon after the accident and the talented 11 year old suffered life-threatening injuries. Emily is still a patient at the Princess Margaret Hospital undergoing extensive treatment.
The tragedy and Emily's survival against the odds have touched hearts across Western Australia and many people have already been very generous in their support.
The benefit is to help Emily's ongoing medical treatment and the expected modifications to the family home when she returns from hospital.
On the night Todd will perform his two hour cabaret show, which is irrepressible, high on energy and decisively based on fun. He will sing, dance, tap, skate, tell stories about other performers and personal anecdotes about his own success.
Auctions will be held throughout the night.
The cost per person is $120.00 and includes a two course dinner, beer, wine, soft drink and show.
The evening commences at 7.00pm and concludes at midnight.
TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED BY PHONING: 08 9213 5333.
Todd is also the trustee for the Emily Barker Trust. If you are unable to attend on either night and would like to make a donation, please make your cheque payable to The Emily Barker Trust PO Box 7301 Cloister's Square, PERTH 6805.
It were possible for every person who receives this email (that could not attend the benefit night) to donate $20.00 to the Foundation, not only would it be greatly appreciated, but we would also see Emily home much sooner.
To ensure that we reach as many people as possible, please forward this email to all of your friends, family and colleagues. Thank you for your support.
