David Campbell won for Sunset Boulevard, Tamsin Carroll won for Dusty in the musical categories. Greg Stone won for Stuff Happens and Caroline O'Connor won for End of the Rainbow in the drama categories. Congrats to Stella and the Moon Man for Kids Performance - I saw that as part of the STC last year and to see kids eyes light up at it was great to see.
Spelling Bee won some minor categories since David highlighted it in his speech.
The two big awards (aka Best Play and Best Musical) are still to be announced.

Any sign of Supporting yet?

Any sign of Supporting yet? They were presented before hand - but someone from Spelling Bee won either supporting, directing, sound, etc - because David saluted all his SB buddies who had won. They should announce those winners shortly - they've just done the Dance Awards. Stuff Happens just took Best Play.

Well, it has to be at least two of either Direction, Choreography, Bert or Tyler, or Christen. So fingers crossed.

Well I would have laughed my ass off if Ross Coleman tied with himself for Choreography but that wouldn't have happened he would have won for one of the two not a tie. I think you'll find it was most likely direction and Christen. Final award of the night.... Winner of Best Musical goes to *drumroll* The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee The favourites have all won tonight, so the BM award went with the flow.

Thanks for all that, Nadine I assume Dusty got Best Direction, too? And... what else? The NineMSN release says it got four awards.

Well it won either Sound Design, Scenic Design, Choreography or Direction in a Musical. Since Dusty was nominated in those 4 categories, the other two wins came from those categories. Because they're against all forms of live performance in 2 of those 4 categories it depends if Ross knocked himself out again in Choreography which he has a habit of doing. I have to say this though regardless of the flack that musical has received it was great to see Spud winning Best Musical Direction, especially since he had to do so many rewrites before opening night for the show.

But how bad was that presentation! It has great potential as a television show but what happened? What happened to the advertised numbers from SPELLING BEE and MENOPAUSE? Sure there was a number from MENOPAUSE but a company number would have served the show better (though it hardly needs the publicity). The show that came off the best was FIDDLER which was remarkable considering someone forgot to give them any light. Couldn't Tamsin Carroll have at least brought a costume and wig?The KEATING number outstayed its welcome as did the Wharf revue people (why bother?).
They should also consider limiting time for speeches like the Tony Awards where they are told before the presentation they have 30 seconds to acknowledge/thank people before the music starts. What is the point of nominating plays that have only been seen in one city? Shouldn't that be left to local award givers? I think for plays/shows/operas to be nominated they should be seen in at least two/three(?) cities. After all these are national awards.
As an entertaining program it failed for me. Any thoughts?
