The Last Five Years is about passionate relationships and the differences between men and women. The Last Five Years is for anyone who has loved and lost.
It follows the relationship of Jamie and Cathy through its five turbulent years, capturing the tenderness of their romance, the intimacy of their marriage and the pain of their separation.
Jamie will be performed by Matt Hetherington, best known for his lead role of Jerry in the State Theatre season of The Full Monty. Cathy will be played by Laura Fitzpatrick, who recently starred as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre, and Hodel in the Australian production of Fiddler on the Roof.
The fifteen songs - beautiful, ironic, often very funny and sometimes painfully moving - confirm writer Jason Robert Brown's status as the most remarkable new voice in American musical theatre since Stephen Sondheim.
With Peter Fitzpatrick as director, musical director Vicky Jacobs and the wonderful environment of Chapel off Chapel, The Last Five Years will be a musical theatre experience not to be missed.
31 August - 17 September 2006 Thursday-Saturday 8pm, Saturday-Sunday 2pm, Sunday 6pm Tickets: $41 full, $29 concession, $35 for 10+ group booking

Saw Matt the other day, and he looks great...he's so suited to this role... I wasn't going to go (even though it's one of my fave musicals) but after hearing Matt talk about it, I'm so there!

Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, GO! Don't waste even a second more, just GO. A gorgeous production, and I am *this* close to going to see it again.
