And now it's time for some shameless self-promotion before I forget again and our marketing officer has my hide (I found out tonight he's lurking here. Quite a surprise. He's a nice chap, though. Everyone say hello ) The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Victoria presents... RuddigoreA supernatural operaJuly 9th - 17th Alexander Theatre, Monash University Evenings at 7.30pm Special children's matinee - July 10th at 2pm Bookings at the theatre - 9905 1111 or visit www.gilbertandsullivan.org.auFull tickets - $30 Concession tickets - $27 Child tickets - $15 Family tickets - $65 (2 adults, 2 children) Group rates (10+) also available. Contact theatre for details. And now that the details are out of the way, it's time for the convincing (I've never been a good salesperson. Don't really expect that to change ). It really is worth seeing. The director and MD are brilliant, the director especially being the best I've worked with thus far (not that he has much competition, but we won't go into that), and the ensemble is fantastic. The plot is gloriously convoluted, like most G&S plays, and has a bit of everything. Sailors, soldiers, ghosts, professional bridesmaids, and cursed baronets, as well as a chorus that's "mad, quite mad" (In the words of Mad Margaret). How's that? I told you I'm no good at these things. Just come along! ~Julia

Well, are you a horrid, fanged, poisonous demon from the depths of hell? No? Then that makes you enough of a nice chap for me And very much so. I'm surprised I haven't had more people turn up randomly who I've done shows with.

Hey hey all, Just a note to say we're (ruddigore, that is) now "live" at www.theatrepeople.com.au Don't forget to check out the website, www.gilbertandsullivan.org.au (while you're there, you can look at "The Merry Widow" pics, for proof of why short tenors with bad moustaches shouldn't dance! ) The Mikado auditions, coming soon.... Love to all

Yep, it's me again, but this time you get to see me beg.
Ticket sales are much much lower than I'd thought, and really if we don't get more tickets sold, it's just going to be depressing.
I'm willing to negotiate bribes to convince people to come if that's what it takes, just as long as we get a few more tickets sold.
So please please please please please come along if it's at all possible, and you'll have a much happier mod.
