Okay, this is sort of random but I figure some of you might be able to help me out.
I'm sort of deciding at the moment to finally give in and do some serious musical theatre training and see where it gets me.
Of course, this is easier said than done, because there's not that many theatre courses in Australia. I'm trying to get a list of them at the moment so I can apply next year sometime and hopefully have a shot of being accepted SOMEWHERE.
I'd kill to get into WAAPA, but somehow I doubt that's going to happen. *g* Am also looking at moving to Melbourne in 6 months or so just because there's more there... And do some dance etc.. any part-time courses around? Sare, do you know?
Basically, though it's kind of terrifying, I'm about to just jump in and do it. But I keep getting so certain that I won't get accepted anywhere that I'm scared I'll just back out, become a librarian and get depressed every time I see a musical. *g*
So. Um. Info on courses. Classes. Any suggestions, even if it's "You're wasting your time."
Please?

Oh Lana my dear! FINALLY!!!! This girl can SING people!
Okay, well here's a few to look into:
VCA - Musical Theatre Monash Uni - Musical Theatre NIDA - Musical Theatre (yep they do it now!) National Theatre (I think they've stopped this course, but I'll get back to you) Dance World 301. Brent Street (this is more dancey)
There's probably heaps more, but they are the most prestigious (along with WAPAA of course!)
As for part-time dance schools...for you my dear I'd suggest Dance Factory, they are not as 'bitchy' as some of the others, and have smaller classes. I've known a few people who teach there and they are fantastic! There's also Dance World, but I don't think you'd like that as much! For obvious reasons (to you and I anyway)!
And we can hang out heaps if you move here! YAYAYAY!

Thanks so much, Sarah! You've given me a lot to look into.. *g*
Have been discussing it with mum, and it looks like I'll have the finances to move to Melbourne by early April, if not before. Yay! That's, like, no time at all! *G*

I think it's awesome your giving it a shot, and you are right with the librarian call. Not that that's a bad profession or anything...(My Mum's one, the rumours are true.) Good luck!! Keep us posted, and if you become famous I want tickets to everything.
