JUST ARRIVED
Chloe Dallimore – Award-Winning female star of THE PRODUCERS
Broadway at Bedtime welcomes Australia’s newest leading lady as its first ever guest interview. Hot from her triumph as Ula in THE PRODUCERS, Chloe Dallimore will talk about her ‘overnight success’ that saw her follow the footsteps of Nancye Hayes, Jill Perryman and Leonie Paige, by being plucked out of the ensemble and being given that elusive big break.
A double Green Room and Helpman winner in 2005, she puts paid to the adages “Dancers don’t do words” or Dancers can’t sing”. She is an intimidating triple threat with an international pedigree of training but with the stage hours to match.
Make sure you are listening to Broadway at Bedtime on Joy 94.9 to hear of a career that takes in CRAZY FOR YOU, SWEET CHARITY, ANNIE, CHICAGO, THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER, the 2000 OLYMPICS and a whole lot more. Ms Dallimore promises that she will even pop those marshmallows back into her mouth so that we can hear her say “Bloom” one more time.
She’s excited that your questions will be coming in to Broadway at Bedtime on Joy. Send them into broadwayatbedtime@joy.org.au by 2pm Sunday January 1, 2006. You can also SMS them in during the show on 0427 JOY 949, call on 9699 2949 or catch her by email - onair@joy.org.au
SOMETHING’S COMING
Robert Dalle Molle – Creator of PREMATURE EJACULATION – THE MUSICAL
Well here is the creator of a brand new Australian work that is getting to the stage not 6 months after it’s first reading! PREMATURE EJACULATION – THE MUSICAL is coming (uhmm--way too soon) to the Malthouse Theatre for a one night only showing to an invitation-only audience of backers and industry representatives.
This little musical seems to just have doors opening for it. It was the hit of the night at Ozmade Musicals, the Malthouse is opening its doors for the industry night, and its creator, Robert Dalle Molle, is sure that the full scale production of this hysterical and revealing exploration of men’s sexual health issues is “no longer an ‘if’ but a ‘when’”.
Robert will be our first ever studio guest and his own dry wit will give you a peak at his show that tackles the issues of taking Viagra, being bald on top and hairy down below, penis size and the over-enthusiasm of being young.
Broadway at Bedtime opens its ‘Help Desk’ for all your questions for Robert which he has asked that you keep ‘quick’ and ‘straight to the point’. Send them into broadwayatbedtime@joy.org.au by 2pm Sunday January 1, 2006. You can also SMS them in during the show on 0427 JOY 949 or call on 9699 2949

FEATURE: THE GODS OF MUSIC THEATRE SMILE ON US!
Peter Cousens – Kookaburra National Music Theatre Company
Capping off an evening of ‘New Beginnings’, what better way to say HAPPY NEW YEAR than with our first SCOOP interview?
Australia FINALLY will have it’s own Music Theatre-dedicated theatre company and it is the brainchild of actor/singer and MT veteran, Peter Cousens.
The Producing Director for Kookaburra National Music Theatre Company, Peter will take listeners through the project thus far and open the curtain on what we can expect from this timely lifeline for Music Theatre in Australia in this pre-launch Broadway at Bedtime interview!
Already with pledges of over $500k and a marquee-quality list of MT luminaries offering unqualified support, Kookaburra is poised to change the face of Music Theatre in Australia for performers, technicians, musicians and audiences alike with an initial residency in Sydney and the possibility of an offspring in Melbourne for the future.
We know you will have questions about this most exciting enterprise so email them in to broadwayatbedtime@joy.org.au by 2pm Sunday January 1, 2006. You can also SMS them in during the show on 0427 JOY 949. And it doesn’t matter where you are in Australia or the world. You can listen to JOY by going to www.joy.org.au
