From what I've heard PRISCILLA will open in October at the Lyric Theatre at Star City in Sydney.

There were some ads on TV for one of the Breakfast shows (Today I think it was) advertising that they would be talking to someone about the show. Don’t know if it’s been on yet, as I don’t watch TV in the morning. Just thought I’d pass it on… Buff

There's whispers of Tony Sheldon and John Wood at the moment for two of the roles.

God only knows why I was expecting original music. I'm not known for unfounded optimism.
This seems less worthwhile than Dirty Dancing, and I do mean that as an insult.

I wouldn't go that far, James. Dirty Dancing was poorly executed. I'm trusting Priscilla, at least, to be a better-formed piece of theatre, even if it is using a pre-written score.
What I'm not happy about is that it will be in direct competition with Titanic, which is enough of a risk to produce even up against something like this, which will do well.

I wouldn't go that far, James. Dirty Dancing was poorly executed. Oddly enough, I didn't think that Dirty Dancing was poorly executed. I think it was a vast improvement on the movie. I just thought it was pretty pointless. It doesn't matter how well it's executed, it'll still be pointless unless they really reinvent it. And of course you're right, it will do well. James

I don't think either John Wood or Tony Sheldon are going to be involved anymore. Apparently the roles are on offer to "movie" names.

I doubt that. I don't think TITANIC are even casting in Melbourne, and I understand that PRISCILLA doesn't have a huge cast anyway.
