Certain cast members are auditioning for their existing roles - from what they have told me.

I honestly can't imagine the London Producers not wanting Sheldon... he is simply phenomenal and the opportunity to play it in London would boost his already impressive profile.

Having to audition for a role you created (for the same director) is an insult.

Really? I disagree. Just because you created a role doesn't mean you're the only one who can do it justice.

Also, auditioning for the same director for a role you created will give you a significant leg-up in the auditions. Someone would have to be mighty good to change that director's mind about what s/he wants.

Yes, but it would appear that you aren't wanted in the first instance, no? It's like having to beg. There is also a strong rumour doing the rounds in London already about an actor who has been approached for a role.

Another article form the Age, this time about Tony Sheldon. Apparently he beat out Michael Crawford and Ian McKellen to star in the London production of Priscilla. Click here. Buff

Apparently there have been complaints about the "cheap seats" at the London theatre as they miss some of the action of the show, so TV monitors have been installed. Article hereBuff
