For those of you who haven't been on a board like this before, or just aren't really used to avatars, I'll put up a step-by-step guide to getting an avatar.
Oh yes, and if you didn't know, the avatar's the little picture under your name. Like my pretty Enjolras
1. Find a picture you want to use and save it to your computer. I don't think there's a size limit here, but please be considerate when choosing your avatar. If it's unreasonably sized, or if I start getting complaints, I will remove it. I think 100 by 100 pixels is a reasonable size, but I won't enforce that strictly unless I must.
2. If you don't already have one, get a web page account. Geocities tends to be a bit troublesome for me with pictures, so I use Fortunecities, but there are other good ones out there, too.
3. Come back here, click on "profile" (up the top of the screen), and where it says "I have my own pic", put a tick in the box, and type in the address of the picture. Eg members.fortunecities.com/username/picturename.jpg If you know the size of the picture, type that in too, but I think you can get away with not doing that.
4. Click on "OK", and you now have an avatar
