If any show could come to Australia, what would you want it to be? Who would be in it? Would there be any changes made to it? I'd love to see Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables return, but for a new musical, I'd love to see Jekyll and Hyde or Scarlet Pimpernel. Or Into the Woods. And I'd fit Anthony Warlow into each of those somewhere I've heard him sing "Hello, Little Girl", from Into the Woods, and he definitely makes a good wolf *g* ~Julia

Lol, he's too nice to play a wolf though! Into the Woods is a musical I don't actually know much about. I'll have to to some research on that. But Jekyll and Hyde, omg yes! That is up there with my fave musicals, I adore it! And of course, Anthony could go back to his role as Jekyll/Hyde, and I think Marina Prior would be a good Emma/Lisa depending what version. Don't know about Lucy, need a belter for that role!

Just because he's nice, doesn't mean he has to act nice. You really should listen to the recording of him doing 'Hello, Little Girl'.
I don't know much about Into the Woods either. It's on my list of musicals to look into, though.
If they brought Jekyll and Hyde down here and didn't put Anthony as J/H......*plots evilly*
I don't know enough about Jekyll and Hyde to know about the rest of the casting yet. It's there on my list, but I have to find the OCR of it first.

Have you heard the rumours that; 1. They're going to be bringing a professional production of Jekyll & Hyde to Australia, and 2. They're putting David Hasselhoff in the lead. I'm not sure how reliable my source is, but for the first, Yay!, and for the second, if they don't at least offer the role to Anthony..... If he doesn't want to do it, that's fine (Apparently he turned down the offer to do it on Broadway because he didn't like the changes they'd made to the score) ~Julia

I think David H. has already performed the role, if memory serves. The reviews were not particularly flattering. You'd hope they could get Anthony involved considering the recording he did (with a few other people, of course ) is considered the "definitive" recording. Buff

How could they not give it to Anthony? It's *his* role, well that's absolutely ridicious. You do not know how much mone yI would give to see Jekyll and Hyde done, even non professionally. But professionally?! Wow, I hope this one is true...minus the David Hasselhoff part. I suppose this makes our convo about who we'd have in the leads more relevant!

Wasn't iTW already done in Australia? I know for a fact Philip Quast hads played The Wolf/Cinderella's Prince, and I am fairly sure that was in Australia.

It was done about 10 years ago, almost to the day, which is probably why many younger musical-goers don't remember. I hadn't started going to musicals yet at that point. Maybe it will be due for a return in a couple of years or so ~Julia

*nods* I'm waiting for it to come back to Britain - though with the general lack of success of the last revival in USA I'm doubting whther it'll be done on a large scale over here any time soon

*goes to check recording* 1991 from what I can gather - so it's been a good 11-12 years. I want to see it live!

91? Eeep, that's even longer than it has been for us. Any idea what a reasonable gap between runs of the same show would be? Les Mis and PotO have both been in Australia since Into the Woods, so I suppose it's too soon to hope for a return...

Well, ITW USA closed around 89-90 I think and reopened in 2002 (wasn't it?) so 12 years seems the usual for this - but could be muuuuch longer
