To me, it looks like if you like a particular poster, you click on Exalt, and if not you "Smite" them. The more "exalts" you get the higher your Karma is, and "smites" reduce it.

I'd be happy for it to be removed, else I'd be tempted to smite people just for the sheer joy of it!
