My best friend John lives in NY now (he finishes at AMDA this week...am I a pround bestest buddy? Yep yep yep! ) Anyhow, he's seen Wicked and said it was one of the best musicals he's seen on Broadway yet! I'm going to try to get tickets if it's still running when I'm there in May, so i'll let you all know what it's like if I do!

I saw it twice when I was in NY, just got back actually.. It is really good, though if you've read Gregory Maguire's book you'd probably be a little disappointed with its story (as I was..). They really dumbed down the plot IMO, and where the book was serious & fairly dark, the musical wanders between comedy & drama. But all in all its a pretty cool show, the production is awesome & they have a top notch cast over there..
And I do hope they bring it here, it would probably do well - its got huge mainstream appeal with the Wizard of Oz connection and all.
Be careful which dates you book for in May, Kristin Chenoweth is taking a week or so off to do another project, Candide I think.. May 3-9.
