Classic HATS OFF – In a completely new Direction!

The cream of Melbourne’s media, arts and entertainment community has rallied once again to celebrate the 6th Annual HATS OFF - a fundraising concert presented by Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (OSCEFA).

This year we are excited to announce that the Artistic Direction will be overseen by a very well known face to Australian Musical Theatre, but one very new to the HATS OFF family: Mr Peter Lowrey.

Peter is well remembered for his Artistic Direction of the1990’s predecessor of HATS OFF, “A One Night Stand With…”

According to Mr Troy Sussman, OSCEFA Artistic Liaison for HATS OFF 2006, “On Sunday 5 November 2006, The National Theatre St Kilda will play host to a ‘Classic HATS OFF’ format, taking the night back to its original ‘variety showcase’ formula.

“From acrobats to illusionists, Divas to Drag Queens, and everything in between, there will truly be something for everyone. This will be one variety packed concert… and yes, we promise to finish well before midnight,” Mr Sussman said.

Make sure you don’t miss out and take advantage of the Early Bird Special: Book by 24 September and get $10 off the adult price.

All proceeds from HATS OFF 2006 will aid the David Williams Fund, an initiative of the VAC established to provide emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who are experiencing financial hardship.

This year's lineup will include Marina Prior, Katie Underwood, Maria Mercedes, Chloe Dallimore, Rhonda Burchmore and Laura Fitzpatrick. Now, waiting for some of the fellows' names!

(The finishing time is an approximate also) So, 10:30, give or take two hours?

Can I just say that after last years marathon, I'm glad Troy's back on the organizing team... we left at interval last year, and heard it went till nearly midnight!!!!!! Man, that was a LONG one, and there were at least 5 people in the first act I would have cut! It's fun, and great value for money, but the whole time I was like "I NEED A DRINK PEOPLE!"

Should be a great night, the cast sound amazing.
