What now?
Why do we have a Wicked forum?
Do we have a production coming?
I mean, it's not what I would have chosen, but hey, I'm not picky.

Sorry, that would be me trying not to draw attention to it There are many rumours about Wicked appearing here perhaps even before Hairspray, and even if it doesn't right away, it will sooner or later, so it hardly hurts* having a place for further news to come. No definite news yet, though. *Quote me on that when we're overrun by fangirls

Gosh, all these little birds are clever! Maybe we should have them running the country Well, 2006 is just next year (Seems so strange to say that!). Let's see. ~Julia

I just heard JMH on the radio and he was discussing Australian musicals vs. American musicals and threw in so flippantly "and Wicked will be opening next year" as if it were old news that everyone was tired of by now. Certainly caught my attention!

I would love if Wicked came around. The music is absolutely amazing, but I would much rather have been able to see the original acst. Does anyone know who's going to be in it if it does end up coming? It would be so exciting if it did. I have a friend who works at Universal who got me into it by sending me to get the cd www.iclassics.com/productDetail?contentId=58190 . I just hope the tour is as good as the original. Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel are awesome.

Okay, so latest I've picked up on is March 2007 at the Maj - the very idea of THAT threatens to make me pass out because I'd love to have my two favourite shows in the same theatre Any truth there?

2.7 seconds.
That's the amount of time it took me to work out what other show you were referring to. I must be tired.
Is that really your priority though? When deciding where you're going to hope Wicked is going to be, don't forget to consider theatre size, seat comfort and stage door accessability.
By the way, who's doing it?

Is that really your priority though? When deciding where you're going to hope Wicked is going to be, don't forget to consider theatre size, seat comfort and stage door accessability. I always wanted Wicked to be at the Maj just because it's the Maj. Then I figured it wouldn't be there because of size...I know the Gershwin seats something like 300 more, and the stage is also enormous. I can't find stage specs now, of course, to compare...but, as small as the Maj is, it's not TOO small. The Orpheum stage seemed pretty tiny to me, and it was in no way cramped. Wicked, for all its grandeur, doesn't actually *need* an enormous stage. And besides, I like it. Everywhere is a good seat, you've got three levels of seating, it's a gorgeous place...and all of this is still, as far as I know, speculation But at least we know the Maj can have trapdoors. The Orpheum had to cheat on one of those, tsk.

wtf? Helen's doing Wicked in London? Oh man that for me would be an incentive by itself to see the production. Explains why she's been MIA in Australia recently. And to think I've had this siggy long before I knew she'd be in it.

Heard talk that WICKED is NOT going to be done in Australia. Reason is that the American producers were asking $10 million for the rights. So I can't see that happening, at least not with the state of the business at present!
