Okay, so the idea is that the next season will be the first to have an Australian musical, which they will have worked on in The Nest next year.

It already sounds a better set up than what The Production Company serve us.

Ross Coleman seems to be directing and/or choreographing Pippin.

Company will star David Campbell and Lucy Durack Okay, I'm already drooling over the possibility of Barcelona with those two. It's set me off thinking of possibilities for Marta and April. No great ideas so far. I'm trying not to think about Joanne. Somehow I think that would only end in disappointment. James

You have got to be kidding. Drooling? I am drooling over David Campbell playing Bobby. What a perfect choice.
Jackjackjack- how could you not have any ideas for the other two women but think the April that has been chosen is drool worthy? Its Sondheim not Rogers and Hammerstein!
Hundreds of ideas for all three of the main women for this show. How about intelligent singing actors like Sharron Miller-chip, Katrina Retallick, Rachael Beck, Blazey Best, Amanda Harrisson, Octavia Baronmartin, Laura Fitzgerald, Louise Kelly, Belinda Wollaston, Angela Kelly, Pippa Grandison, Angela Toohey...the list really goes on. If they ever got casting for women right, then I would drool.

I reckon Judi Conelli would be first choice for Joanne. Laura Fitzpatrick would be a brilliant Amy, Lucy Durack a gorgeous April, and I think Pippa'd be a great Marta. Then there's the rest of the wives...
I'm so excited about this show.

Sounds like you are a bit jealous Denilquin? Don't be, Lucy is having a very good run and has an exciting career both now and ahead, but your chance will come...take advice from Pippin- "Everything has it's season" and just be happy for her

It's not that I can't think of anyone, it's just that I'm being kinda picky. (Cos my hypothetical casting is just, like sooo important ). Lots of good suggestions. The only one that really leaps out at me so far is Amanda Harrison, who could just about play any of the wives, but I'd love to see as Amy. I'd really like to see Christina Tan as Marta, but then I'd cast her in anything. And a bit of a fair go for Lucy Durack. Don't leap too quickly to typecast her. Besides that, what's wrong with R&H? As for Joanne, I stand by my fence sitting. I could just never make a decision like that. James P.S. Re Amanda: How long a maternity leave do performers generally have, assuming they return to it at all?

Nicely said Milton Being a huge fan of both David and Lucy (not to rub it in too much Deniliquin- but have you SEEN her sing Girl in 14G or any of the material she does with Matthew Robinson? She is a fantastic actress - you're in for a very pleasant surprise), not to mention Matthew Robinson, I am extremely excited about the Kookaburra shows- and they're in Sydney ;D What about Verity Hunt Ballard for one of the other girlfiends? I think she'd be ideal...

Brilliant, so we have performance dates, too. Not going to even attempt to make plans until I'm a little let brain-dead, though.
....A little less brain-dead. I think I just proved my point.
