Hehe Gary was brilliant - but this time he was the one being pursued! I love his dazed "what-just-happened?"-ness ;D I also liked the way they changed over the scenes, actually having him (or Terry Donovan once I think?) telling us what was going on, I thought that was done really well, simple but effective.

That was just part of it being set as Buffalo Bill's show telling the story of Frank Butler and Annie Oakley (Alphabetically? Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. Annie comes before Frank). It did work very well. And the backdrop helped, too! I agree that the New York one, with the rippling pattern, was the best.

I was reading a book on stage musicals today (you know, you look for ONE thing and spend over an hour...btw Julia it was Iolanthe that you were telling me about ages ago) and in the AGYG section it had these gems - Old Fashioned Wedding was written for the 1966 revival (well, we already knew that) - but when it was put in, the characters of Tommy and Winnie and their two duets were eliminated! Nooooo! I'm so glad TPC let us have both OFW was my favourite song, but not at the expense of Tommy and Winnie And also, in the original, Winnie was Dolly's daughter, not sister. Yep, that was a kind of wtf moment (And, AGYG was before Call Me Madam)
