Does anyone know of any shows up for the Pratt prize this year? This website and others have claimed that sideshow alley finally has its national professional tour going ahead...with the entire cast full of principal players apparently!?!?! But isnt this year the year of the next Pratt prize? Would love to hear more about the process of this and what shows are under consideration, rather than simply hearing the winner! Is it even still happening?

I saw Pyjama Games on opening night and I didn't like it very much. I loved Oklahoma and I thought Ian Stinlake was great in this also...I liked him as Curly better though. He acted both parts just as well, but there wasnt as much drama here. I missed the drama. Nothing moved me or made me want to cry. Oklahoma was the only production company show that has felt that way for me. but not all shows can be like that was. I guess not all shows are meant to do that! But i really really liked the idea that this one was set in a factory. i had never seen this show before and expected it to be a bedroom romp!! haha.

SHHH! I havent seen pajama game yet!!!!!!!
But in response to the jeannie pratt foundation award for new music theatre i have heard that a show called pioneers is up for it, as is a show about supermarkets and also i know that resubmissions are always permitted and some have come close in previous years such as a show called angel puss. We dont hear much about writers though. maybe another matthew robinson one? can someone win twice? i have heard he is writing a new one as well as eddie perfect writing a new one about shane warne. but i dont know if they are up for the pjeannie pratt award,

Well, entries have only just closed, so I expect we'll be hearing an official list of nominees within the next couple of weeks, but I do know James Millar and Peter Rutherford's wonderful new musical, The Hatpin, has been reworked and entered.
I doubt Matty Robinson would have one ready for submission yet, but it's possible. Shane Warne? Sounds like the sort of thing Eddie Perfect would come out with ;D
And Oklahoma really was a highlight of TPC. They had an excellent cast, especially where the drama was, and deserved every nomination (and award) they've received.

Yes there was a newspaper artical that said Eddie was writing Shane Warne The Musical. Haha. I think its a good idea. I have always thought Aussies pick sport over theatre. Cant think of a better way to bring them both together. hahaha. i am sure there will be lots of mobile phone jokes.

From the TPC website...
Chloe Dallimore, who wowed Australian audiences with her award winning performances as Ulla in The Producers, will be Millie Dillmount. She will be joined by Lucy Durack (Oklahoma!) as Miss Dorothy Brown, Nicki Wendt (Annie Get Your Gun) as Mrs Meers, David Harris ( Full Monty) as Jimmy Smith, Adam Murphy (Pajama Game) as Trevor Graydon and Debra Byrne as Muzzy.
