Hi guys, Sophie Carter told me about this site, and I wanted to thank you all for your interest in the industry. It's scary the info you are able to get to! I better be careful what I say. I'll keep you in the loop when I hear what's on the boiler. I've been quietly spoken to about Damn Yankees next year but we'llm see what happens. Actually Soph told me I had met one of your members in the upstairs foyer at the Arts Centre after one of the High Society shows. Anyways, I'm totally new to chat rooms and I'm not even sure if I'm doing it right, but I thought I should just drop you all a general line to say it's refreshing to know that someone still gives a damn about musicals aside from how much money they make or how many tickets we sell. Um, ok. that's all I've got for now. I dont know what to do next. Post maybe? Dumb actor. Cheers, Marty Fields

On behalf of everyone, thanks for taking the time out to post Marty.
It's always interesting to get a performer's insight into the performing arts as opposed to the audience's point of view.
News is always appreciated around here!

Hey Marty,
Your last few shows with the Production Company have come with some program profiles that are, well, a little more entertaining than usual. Can I request you temper that with a bit of actual profile. They're a valuable resource for those of us who are, well... obsessed.
Anything Goes was only the second ever musical I saw. (I've been following Christina Tan ever since that sailor girl outfit, but that's another story.) Looking back, that profile actually does list shows, talk about awards and books, but I tend to remember the jokes. Which, after three years, I guess is pretty remarkable. Actually, forget I said anything. Sorry.
James

Hi Marty! I don't suppose "High Society" is going to tour Tassie? ? !! Buff I think you've got about a snowball's chance in hell. Given that the only TPC show to play anywhere else (Hair) required another production company (Macks) to come on board and only went to Sydney, and while the director of South Pacific went elsewhere TPC had nothing to do with it. Keep your hopes down, that way, if anything happens, it will be a bonus, like when I decided about a year ago that a large scale Aussie musical would never ever happen again. James

TEXT Oh Marty!!! where is the faith??? Australia can still have a big full on musical. Maybe you need to write one. Hmmm, Now isn't that an idea and a half. But maybe the trick is not to set it in Oz. Maybe somewhere full of life, bright lights and lots of emotion- LAS VEGAS perhaps?? I bet anything you write would be awesome. and the audiences would lap it up. xxxxpegabellaXXXX
