The auditions have been and gone. An article in the local paper said they had a good response. My best friend auditioned. The next day he had a call from the director to say he wasn't being cast. She said that his was the best audition they saw, but because he auditioned for a specific role and they thought it wasn't a big enough role for him, they didn't cast him. He was a bit perplexed From what he told me that the director said (if that makes sense ) it seemed as if they were worried his small role would overshadow the larger roles. I didn't audition as Buff Jnr is due just before the show opens, so it wouldn't be fair to Mrs Buff or the production. Buff

Why not? Our Valjean (or at least his wife) went into labour right at the end of one of our performances, so he skipped curtain call and fled.
Okay, so maybe you don't want to do that.
